NDSS Strategic Development Grant Program

Strategic Development Grants (SDG) were introduced to the NDSS Agreement in 2001.  They have provided an opportunity to explore initiatives to maintain and improve the capability of the NDSS to achieve its objectives in areas that had a potential for national application. SDG projects were undertaken on an annual basis, however, Diabetes Australia and the Department of Health and Ageing have agreed that a longer term strategic view of development activities would lead to improved outcomes for people diagnosed with diabetes who are registered on the NDSS (‘Registrants’). Under the 2011 – 2016 NDSS Agreement SDG Projects have been discontinued and National Development Programs will develop nationally applicable information, resources and services to address Registrants’ needs.
